Global Mapper Imagery Rectification (Georeferencing)

On my first post, i will show you how to rectify imagery using Global Mapper software. There a two ways to rectify the imagery in global mapper, but on this tutorial i'll just show how to rectify the image using GCP data point.

Data needed : Imagery Data (from google earth), GCP Data
  1. Open the Global Mapper software and load the data you have prepared
  2. Then immediately appear Global Mapper Notification to rectify the image, " Choose YES to rectify manual". Notify !!  (if you just want to see the data for a moment you can choose NO  and Global Mapper will automaticly rectify the Image with fake coordinat.)
  3. You will see Image Rectifier Toolbar on your screen ( look at the picture below)

Look at the picture, there a three column on the Image Rectifier window.
  1. On The first column which have blue grid is an entire image ( you can zoom in or zoom out the image to search the location of your GCP).
  2. Second column is zoomed view. When you have found the GCP location, "click on it" and it will appear a point then marked the located of your GCP
  3. When you have found the GCP location move to the GCP entry. Fill the X and Y column with the GCP coordinate you have then click Add Point List.  The XY coordinat will appear in the GCP table below the GCP entry.
  4. Do the same thing with the other GCP data you have.
  5. If you finished entry the data then click apply. "( look at the Error column on the GCP table), if you mark your GCP on the right place, the value in "error column"  will be close to zero.
  6. Click OK and you have finish to rectify the Image
